Rescue
of Western Pennsylvania, Inc.
COLLIE RESCUE OF WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA,
INC. was established in March, 1986 to provide for
the rescue and care of homeless purebred Collies. Our
organization is comprised of experienced Collie breeders and
fanciers, obedience trainers and competitors, and animal shelter
volunteers, all of whom are dedicated to eliminating the suffering
of unfortunate Collies which have lost their homes. These
Collies come from animal shelters, owners who no longer want
them, and people who have found them running at large.
Presently, COLLIE RESCUE operates in Allegheny,
Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Lawrence, Washington and
Westmoreland counties in Western Pennsylvania. On average,
COLLIE RESCUE obtains permanent placements for up to 50 Collies
every year. Our success stories range in age from a rambunctious
baby of 3 months to an elegant old gentleman of 10 years.

The Dream
By Kristina Cieslak
He
sits, he stays...
He runs, he plays...
But
around his neck he felt a strain...
For Buster was always tied to a chain.
Food
was thrown only every few days,
He wagged his tail, but got no praise.
Neglected,
forgotten, and abused.
His coat had no shine; his legs were bruised.
The
neighbors all whispered, wondered what they should
do...
Until one day, Buster awoke to something new.
A
new family had arrived, and took him away.
He would not have to live there another day.
They took him to a yard, lush and green,
And fed him the finest in doggy cuisine.
Toys
galore, and bones to chew.
Could this really all be true?
Laying
in his owner's lap,
Buster settled down for a nap.
But
when he awoke, this all was gone.
The chain was around him, still on the old lawn.
Won't
somebody save him, give him a chance?
Instead of just giving a pitiful glance...
In
order for this dog's dreams to come true
People need to take action.
People like you.
